My name is Jaikeem Mitchell, better known as Speedy! They started calling me Speedy during flag football at 5 years old because I only knew one speed-FAST! I love running track, playing football, and basketball.
I am most proud of breaking the AAU National Record for the 100m in 2022 as a 9 year old, running it in 12.86s. That same year, I also won gold in the 200m and 400m sprints. Fred Kerley is one of my biggest inspirations because he also has a wide range of sprint domination from the 100m to the 400m.
The most interesting thing about me is, I have chronic asthma. While it's sometimes tough to manage and other times quite painful, I won't let it hold me back. Just like Noah Lyles overcame childhood asthma to become a stronger athlete, I am striving to accomplish continued success as well.
An unknown fact about me is that I am in the talented and gifted program at school. Science is my favorite subject. Having two parents as school administrators is another reason I know school is even more important than athletic ability. I want to be a leader on and off the track, fields, and courts.
Any contribution you can provide will help lighten the financial burden we acquire year after year to help me be the best in life I can possibly be. THANK YOU!
