Nepal has a way of touching you in places you didn’t even know needed healing.

I didn’t expect that to be my experience—but it was.

From the moment I arrived, something shifted. The pace of life is different here. People show up for one another in ways that feel deeply human. It makes you slow down, listen more carefully, and notice what really matters.

But what changed me most were the girls of Unatti.

Spending time with them—sitting beside them, listening, laughing—made everything real. You see girls who arrived shy, guarded, and unsure. And then you see what happens when they’re given time, care, and consistent support. Confidence grows. Voices get stronger. Possibility opens.

As a board member, part of my role is to make sure Unatti has the financial stability to support these girls—not just today, but over the long term. The obstacles in front of them weren’t choices they made. Poverty, gender, and circumstance were placed in their path before they had any say. Our responsibility is to remove those barriers so they can focus on learning, healing, and becoming who they already are.

This spring, we’re inviting 10 more girls to join the Unatti family. With these new girls, 73 girls in total will be receiving Unatti’s loving, long-term support.

For each of them, this isn’t just help—it’s a life-changing opportunity. A safe home. Access to education. And the kind of steady, reliable support that allows a girl to imagine a future she may never have thought possible.

This isn’t about quick fixes. It’s about 15–18 years of support—from early childhood through a bachelor’s degree. It’s about showing up consistently and creating the stability girls need to grow with confidence instead of fear.

I arrived ready to give. I left feeling steadier, clearer, and more connected than I expected. This place—and this Unatti family—has a way of touching you deeply.
