A collective of 33 mask blocs and mutual aid organizations across the Eastern and Southern United States are collaborating to purchase and distribute 93,720 N95 3M Aura masks and $230 worth of hand sanitizer.

The masks and hand sanitizer were purchased from government surplus locations in Virginia in late December 2024, thanks to some amazing folks from Covid Resistance Action NorthEast. CRANE Organizers fronted $8,520.00 to purchase 93,000+ Auras for approximately $0.09 a piece. We are striving to raise money to cover the costs of the ongoing distribution of these masks and hand sanitizer to participating mask blocs and mutual aid organizations, as well as to pay back the organizers from CRANE.

We have two goals for this fundraiser, for a total amount of $12,779.81. The first goal of $1,255 is for those who need reimbursement as soon as possible. The second goal, an additional $11,524.81, will go towards the reimbursement of the CRANE organizers who enabled us to purchase these masks and other folks who would be greatly appreciative of reimbursement.

What We Will Do With the Money We Raise:

Rent vehicles/equipment to transport the masks and hand sanitizer to mask blocs/other mutual aid organizers.
Cover insurance policies for rented vehicles/equipment.
Pay for gas, tolls, food, and potential accommodations for the organizers transporting these supplies.
Freight shipping to transport masks from Virginia to Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, New York, and Georgia.
Mailing masks and hand sanitizer to some participating blocs.
Compensate wages lost for those who must take off work to acquire or distribute supplies and cannot fully volunteer their time.
Reimburse CRANE organizers who fronted the funds to purchase the masks.
