Classes will be 8 weeks. Your start date will be determined by your instructor.

We have a large number of time slots available, for students at different levels!

In person (Des Moines metro area):

A Quick Guide to the Sliding Scale (with credit and thanks to Worts and Cunning)
In accordance with our roots and values, we want to offer our communities as wide an opportunity to not only learn ASL but also support Deaf Dome in its work - including paying our instructors. Thus, we have put a sliding scale into place.

The Pay-It-Forward price ($120) is a few bucks above the actual cost of the class and that extra money goes towards supporting scholarships as well as future free and low-cost classes. Essentially it's an opportunity to not only take the class but also support your fellow community members while you're at it.

The full price class ticket ($100) is the actual cost of the class. If you choose a ticket price below the top tier you are receiving a discount.

The half price class ticket ($50) is for those who are able to meet their basic needs but have little-to-no expendable income. Paying for this class may qualify as a sacrifice but it would not create hardship.

The 1/10 price class ticket ($10) is for those who struggle to meet basic needs and paying more for this class would still be a significant hardship.

Additional people in the same household may be paid for at either $25/person (full or half price) or $5/person (hardship).

However - if paying even the hardship prices will result in you not being able to take the class, please email us at info@deafdome.org . We are committed to eliminating as many economic barriers as possible.

You will be given the opportunity to cover the very low Givebutter fees (so 100% of your payment goes to Deaf Dome) but this is not required. You will also have the opportunity to tip Givebutter - also not a requirement!
