Five rescued puppies are now in a fight for their lives.

On March 20, five puppies were pulled to safety. They should have been starting their new lives—but instead, they are now battling parvovirus (Parvo), a highly contagious and potentially deadly disease that primarily affects puppies.

Parvo attacks a puppy’s gastrointestinal system and immune defenses, causing severe vomiting, diarrhea, dehydration, and rapid decline. Without treatment, it can be fatal. Even with care, survival depends on immediate, intensive medical treatment.

💔 Four of the puppies—Dahlia, Camellia, Rue, and Alyssa—are being cared for by Angels Among Us Rescue and Boarding.
💔 Dandelion, who came in alone, has been rescued by Carolina Animal Network.

Both rescues stepped up without hesitation—and now they’re facing overwhelming medical costs.

💸 The Reality of Parvo Treatment

Parvo treatment in North Carolina typically ranges from $500 to $2,600 per puppy for inpatient care. Severe cases can exceed $5,000–$8,000, depending on hospitalization, IV fluids, medications, and round-the-clock monitoring.
