I am super excited to embark on this dream come true educational and healing project. I am Uzo Nwankpa. An Igbo womyn who grew up on the streets of Enugu Nigeria (Igbo land) and made my way to Turtle Island (USA) at 15yrs old. ✈️🌎🛫
With this experience of immersion into Igbo culture, ritual, music, dance, theatre and more, I’ll be able to make the connections between Africans on the continent and Africans in the diaspora. I’ve always been fascinated by how the spirit of Africa moves through melanated peoples veins regardless of how long ago we left our ancestral lands. We are all descendants of the original people. What happens when we commune, dance together, play together, make music together?
