Sad, sick, overweight, and abandoned - that’s the state Gracy, a 5-year-old yellow lab, was in the shelter when we found her.
Shortly after we rescued her, we noticed that she has a mass on her abdomen, next to her mammary glands that kept growing super-fast so we knew that cannot be good news. We scheduled her for surgery and paid about $2,000 for that surgery just to find out that she has a mammary duct carcinoma grade 2. Sadly, it was not removed with clear margins. To give her the best chance, she will need to have a more extensive surgery to try and remove the rest of the cancer, this time with the best oncologist surgeon in OC – Dr. Donner at Blue Pearl.
The cost for this second surgery is estimated between $6000-$8000. The pre-op testing was $500.00 This is a lot of money for a rescue but she is worth it.
She is a super sweet girl with a lot of life left in in her. She loves to go out for hikes and walks. She deserves a healthy life, hopefully without cancer. Partner with us, and together we can give her a happy fur-ever after.
