Instructor Lancha
Capoeira Senzala

Lancha began studying Capoeira with Mestre Zumbi in 2003 while a student at Princeton University. As a professional musician, he was captivated by the sound of the drums and their connection to the movements. In 2014, he received his Blue Cord (Azul) and the rank of Instructor from his Mestre at the 2014 Capoeira Senzala Annual Batizado celebration. Lancha continues to train and teaches throughout the NY-NJ area, holding classes in New Jersey, Brooklyn, the Bronx, and Manhattan. He travels extensively and regularly attends numerous workshops, seminars, and classes throughout the world including Brazil, Europe, Asia, and the USA.

Lance Bryant
Saxophonist and Vocalist

Saxophonist, arranger, and vocalist Lance Bryant performs in the New York/New Jersey area. When Lance is not performing his own music he is touring with revered South African pianist, Abdullah Ibrahim, performing and recording as a saxophonist with fellow New York area players, teaching and writing commissioned arrangements for other artists and bands. Realizing the importance of spirituality and the blues as healing and empowering forces, Lance always makes sure to incorporate these elements from his cultural background into his music. He believes that the larger community of the world is in need of that same healing and empowering influence.

The Union County Fatherhood Initiative Coalition (UCFIC) has pioneered healthy father engagement, education, and support activities since its start in 2012. UCFIC is dedicated to preparing and supporting fathers and men who lack the resources and connections to fulfill their potential in all spheres of life, including their significant roles as fathers to their children. With Union County NJ as its service area, UCFIC focuses on communities with higher numbers of African American, Latino-Hispanic, and low-income men: Elizabeth, Plainfield, Linden, Rahway, and Roselle.
