The Laurie Roberts Bogey Fund (Black Cat Fund) helps promote the adoption of black cats by reducing the adoption fee by $20. Black cats are the last to be adopted because of silly superstitions. Black cats’ faces can also seem inscrutable. Their black fur makes their expressions less obvious, especially in a shelter where the lighting is not ideal.
Bogey (a black cat) had been adopted by KPIG radio host Laurie Roberts from the Shelter and when he passed away in 2014, Laurie created the Fund to honor his memory. In 2021 Laurie passed away and we would like to honor her as well. Consider donating to The Laurie Roberts Bogey Fund or make an ongoing contribution to honor Bogey and Laurie.
