Yarmouth Steam Boosters

Yarmouth STEAM Boosters, Inc. is a tax-exempt nonprofit, dedicated to empowering young people to become the innovators, engineers, and problem-solvers of tomorrow. We provide support for the Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) programs in the Yarmouth School District, primarily through the robotics program, which includes 82 students in grades 6-12.

Since launching in 2009, Yarmouth robotics teams have qualified for the VEX World Championships 9 times and won the state championships 3 times. The program currently engages +80 students each year, in grades 6 to 12, and we are actively expanding programming to younger students.

While we’re proud of these achievements, we’re most excited about all the benefits that our kids are gaining that will serve them long after graduation. They’re becoming collaborators, creative thinkers and problem solvers.

Yarmouth STEAM Boosters raised more than $14,000 in our first year, thanks to incredible support from 10 individual donors, 14 corporate donors, concessions sales at robotics tournaments, and a Clam Festival booth. With this funding, we were able to:

Help 10 Yarmouth students (5 from Harrison Middle School and 5 from Yarmouth High School) travel to the VEX Robotics World Championship in Dallas in May 2025—where they competed against and partnered with teams from over 60 countries.
Cover tournament fees for 70 middle and high school robotics participants.
Provide essential replacement parts for our growing teams.
Launch the first-ever Yarmouth Elementary School robotics program (supported by a Yarmouth Education Foundation grant).

Looking ahead, our 2025–2026 fundraising goal is $30,000. This will allow us to:

Fully cover expenses for all team members who qualify for Worlds and other tournaments, ensuring opportunities are accessible to every student.
Continue to expand STEAM programming to younger grades.
Provide stipends for our dedicated coaches.
