Why We’re Doing This
We are navigating an unprecedented era of repression, from ICE raids to the daily struggle for housing, jobs, and education—challenges that fall heaviest on our communities under this administration. This system works to divide immigrants from non-immigrants, citizens from non-citizens, criminalizing some while leaving others unprotected. In response, we are coming together to bridge those divides. Spanish for Action classes give learners the tools and confidence to speak with anyone in their community, meet neighbors, and organize around issues that directly affect immigrants and low-income residents in Olneyville and other immigrant neighborhoods.

Our program also empowers heritage Spanish speakers who want to strengthen their language skills and reclaim their cultural roots, while giving everyone the tools to communicate effectively and confidently in real-world situations.

Meet Eduardo, Our Teacher
Our Spanish for Action classes are led by community educators like Eduardo, who brings decades of teaching experience from multiple countries. Learners will leave with real communication skills and the confidence to engage with their neighborhood in Spanish, connect with new people, and help make streets where everyone knows each other and looks out for one another.

Classes focus on building grammar and conversational skills while also practicing real-life interactions.

How You Can Help
We need about $150 per week to cover materials, teacher stipends, and staff time. Your donation will help us launch the first 10 weeks of Spanish for Action classes in Olneyville and create a stronger, more connected community.
