We’re honoring the life and legacy of our beloved tiger, Doc, with a memorial fundraiser dedicated to the continued care of our aging residents—and to shine a light on the hidden cruelty behind the exotic animal entertainment industry.

Doc's story began in heartbreak. His mother was bred solely to feed the “pay to play” trade—a practice where cubs are taken from their mothers far too early and placed on bottles so paying visitors can pose for photos. These moments may seem cute and harmless, but the reality is devastating. Cubs like Doc endure severe emotional and physical stress during these vital developmental stages, often leading to long-term health complications and early onset age-related issues. Once they grow too large for photo ops, many are discarded, shuffled between facilities, or left without proper care.

Doc was one of the lucky ones. He found his forever home at Noah’s Ark, where he lived out his days surrounded by love, safety, and dignity. But his story—and the stories of countless others—remind us why sanctuaries like ours are so important.

To honor Doc, we’re raising funds to support the evolving care needs of our senior animals. A portion of all donations will also go to Born Free USA’s Stop Selfish Selfie Campaign, which works to end the exploitation of wild animals for entertainment and raise awareness about the darker side of photo ops.
