Help us build an indoor facility for the Pell City Softball Team!
The Pell City Softball Booster Club would like to invite you to be a part of history and girls' sports at Pell City High School.
We are raising funds to build a new indoor hitting facility on campus for the girls. The booster club is working hard to build a 45' x 75' facility with three bays of hitting, a pitching lane, coaches offices, storage and laundry space.
The Pell City girls’ softball team has made it to State in 3 of the last 5 years in 6A play, and finished as #6 in 2019, #3 in 2022 and #7 in 2023.
Between Pell City recreation softball, travel ball teams and the girls’ softball team at Pell City High School there are well over 100 girls playing softball in and around the area.
On the current high school team over 90% of the girls have played together since they started playing recreation ball over 10 years ago. These young ladies are not only leaders in sports, but also in many organizations within their school. Most, if not all, are multiple sports athletes. Many of them are leaders in SGA, FBLA, Beta Club, Math Club, Interact Club, Spanish Club and so on to name a few. They are not only involved in clubs and such, but also have one of the highest GPAs as a team of all sports teams at Pell City High School. These young ladies have learned valuable leadership skills and discipline from their years of playing the sport they love.
A prime example of that is their head coach, Brittany Gillison. She is a Pell City girl, played softball and basketball for Pell City from 2005-2011, went on to play softball on scholarship at Wallace State Community College from 2011-2013. During her time at Wallace State she helped them win 2 state titles and a national championship in softball. She then went to the University of North Alabama on scholarship from 2013-2015 to finish her degree. While playing softball there she was named All Decade Player. She is now helping in developing the next leaders not only in sports but within our community.
Please join us in giving these girls the top-tier facilities they deserve to be successful and make Pell City proud. With your help, we hope to start the building process in June and have phase 1 completed by next season.
