As we enter the final quarter of the 2025–2026 school year, Amidon-Bowen—Southwest’s neighborhood elementary school—is preparing for some of the most meaningful moments of the year.

The PTA has set a goal of raising $10,000 to support two important efforts:

Teacher Appreciation Week (early May): Providing treats and activities to recognize and celebrate the incredible dedication of our teachers and staff.
5th Grade Promotion (early June): Supporting end-of-year celebrations, including a special two-day camping trip. This trip recently lost its DCPS funding, and we’re working to ensure every student can still participate in this milestone experience.

These events are more than just celebrations—they’re opportunities to honor our educators and give our graduating 5th graders lasting memories as they move on to middle school.
