This year has been one of deep, largely behind-the-scenes transformation. Poetry Barn and its sister 501(c)(3) organization, AIM Higher, Inc., have been slowly and lovingly weaving themselves together, preparing for their next evolution: the Academy of Intentional Magic—a unified home for those who love writing, art, music, and nature.

Guided by the wild intelligence of the more-than-human world, the Academy of Intentional Magic empowers artists to explore what is essential and what comes most naturally to the eye and ear, heart and hand.

As part of this evolution, we are embracing a business structure in which Poetry Barn’s offerings operate under the nonprofit, generating earned revenue that directly supports our mission. This model allows us to sustain our creative work with greater stability, freedom, and long-range imagination.

Your support helps us offer workshops, readings, publications, and creative spaces that value depth over speed, curiosity over certainty, and community over competition. It allows us to honor artists, keep programming accessible, and sustain a creative ecosystem rooted in care.
