We’re heartbroken to share that Funguy, one of our rescued fur-farm foxes, has passed away. His necropsy revealed he had an enlarged heart and a brain abnormality that likely caused seizures—conditions he was sadly born with due to poor breeding practices in the fur trade.

His companion, Tilty, has returned to our friends at Save A Fox to help support another special needs fox. Meanwhile, the rest of the foxes are settling in well.

We were told one fox might experience shedding-related eye irritation, which he did, but he’s finishing a round of antibiotics and recovering quickly. We’re honored to care for these stunning creatures and are continuing work on a special enclosure with a heated barn to support future special needs foxes who may need sanctuary.

All 10 foxes have officially arrived, and they are settling in amazingly well! Watching them explore their new surroundings, play with their toys, and finally feel safe has been nothing short of incredible. We have raised enough funds to complete the needed enclosures. We are so grateful to you and will be turning off the ability to donate to this page to prevent any confusion! Thanks to repurposed fencing, storm debris, and the hard work of our dedicated volunteers, we were able to renovate two enclosures—giving these rescues a fresh start. But our work isn’t done yet! Every dollar gets us closer to ensuring they have the care and space they need to thrive.

Dearest Friend of Noah's Ark,

The animal rescue world is facing an unprecedented challenge. With fur farms closing, hundreds—if not thousands—of foxes are flooding rescues across the country. While it’s a relief to know these cruel facilities are shutting their doors, the aftermath is daunting. These foxes, bred for profit and nothing more, now need a second chance at life—a chance we are determined to give them.

At Noah’s Ark, we’ve partnered with rescuers to help meet this overwhelming need, and we’re preparing to welcome 10 foxes to our sanctuary very soon.

Among them are Funguy, a stunning captive-bred red fox from the fur trade who suffers from seizures, and his loyal support companion, Tilty.

Like so many others, Funguy has been tragically affected by the severe inbreeding rampant in the fur industry. His seizures are worsened by cold temperatures, meaning he will need a safe, insulated space and lifelong medical care to live comfortably.

Sadly, his story is not unique. Many of these foxes face a lifetime of health issues, including early formation of debilitating cancers and many genetic disorders, due to the conditions they were born into. But despite their heartbreaking pasts, they deserve a future filled with love, care, and safety.

Cramped, lonely, and bred for profit, a young fox shrinks into the corner of its wire cage unaware that it's about to be rescued.

To make this rescue possible, we need your help.

We’re rolling up our proverbial sleeves and working tirelessly to upgrade and expand our current fox area, but the scale of this mission is immense. To ensure these foxes have the space and shelter they need to thrive, we must:

Purchase/build five (ideally) insulated sheds to protect against the elements, especially for foxes like Funguy who are vulnerable to the cold, as well as prepare for future rescues. Repoed/slightly damaged is fine. Able to deliver is ideal! We are scrappy!
Install secure fencing to give them room to explore and play in safety.
Purchase food protein in bulk to save shipping costs
Prepare for future large-scale rescues, as the demand for sanctuaries like ours continues to grow.

Our current fox area has been renovated— and expanded- to accommodate a few of the new arrivals. More housing is needed for current and future rescues.

It has been a few years since a need of this magnitude has been asked of us and we are ready for the challenge. This mission is urgent, and time is short. With foxes ready to arrive in just a few weeks, we need to hit the ground running. Your support can help us provide these animals with the care and dignity they’ve never known.
