The non-profit volleyball club Starlings Inspire provides teens in the underserved urban communities of Pawtucket, Central Falls, and Providence, Rhode Island an opportunity to participate in club volleyball by making the program affordable and accessible.

Through fundraising efforts, such as this drawing for a pair of tickets to see the Boston Celtics play at home on March 5 at 7 p.m., Starlings Inspire is able to offer a safe, positive, high-quality instructional program, while charging families a fee that is a small fraction of what other clubs charge.

Starlings Inspire's program expenses include gym rental fees, coaches' stipends, player uniforms, tournament entry fees, USA Volleyball memberships for players and coaches, and equipment. The club relies heavily on fundraisers, donations, and grants to cover most of these expenses.

Founded in 2020, Starlings Inspire takes pride in instilling valuable lessons through volleyball, such as the importance to teamwork, communication, leadership, and sportsmanship. The student-athletes compete in sanctioned tournaments in the New England Region of USA Volleyball. During the course of practicing twice a week and competing in tournaments, the players not only enhance their volleyball knowledge and technique, but they also improve their self-confidence and develop their social skills.

Starlings Inspire creates a safe space where teens feel supported by coaches who help them reach their full potential. 🏐
