Project Overview:

CodeConnect Namibia is a transformative initiative scheduled to run from October 1, 2024, to October 1, 2025. Our primary objective is to empower young Namibians through comprehensive computer science training. By equipping them with essential skills, we aim to enhance their employability, foster entrepreneurship, and contribute to the socio-economic development of Namibia.

Project Context and Stakes:

Access to quality education and employment opportunities in the technology sector remains a significant challenge in Namibia, especially for disadvantaged youth. Through CodeConnect Namibia, we aim to bridge this gap by providing high-quality training in computer science fundamentals, programming languages, and software development concepts. Our goal is to unlock the potential of Namibian youth and positively impact the socio-economic landscape of the country.

Strategy and Outcomes:

We deliver structured training using a hands-on learning approach, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility for participants with varying levels of experience. Our curriculum goes beyond technical skills to foster critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and creativity. Expected outcomes include increased proficiency in computer science concepts, enhanced employability, promotion of entrepreneurship and innovation, and long-term socio-economic impact through a skilled and empowered youth population.

Beneficiary Communities:

While our training facilities are in Windhoek city, the project aims to benefit rural communities across Namibia. We will identify specific communities based on factors such as accessibility and the need for technology education.

Sustainability Measures:

We collaborate with local partners to integrate the project into existing community programs. Mentorship programs, alumni networks, and capacity-building initiatives ensure ongoing support and guidance to program graduates.

Monitoring and Evaluation:

We have established robust monitoring and evaluation measures, including regular assessments of participant progress, feedback sessions, and surveys, to ensure effectiveness and relevance.
