Carlos

We discovered Carlos on September 10th at the dump, petrified and scared to come near anyone. Shortly after, we no longer  aught sight of him during feedings in order to try to catch him, as if he disappeared. We had heard from nearby residents they believed he may have been hit by a car (often intentional in this area) so we sadly assumed he had passed. And then suddenly, he not only reappeared but bravely meandered towards us, painfully ready to surrender and receive the help and care he so desperately needs. 

Today at the vet we learned Carlos has 5 fractures in his pelvis and both hips are out of joint causing him to be unable to relieve himself properly. He has his first surgery Monday. He is also Heartworm positive and will need to neutered. While we have received two wonderful donations to give his treatment costs a boost, Carlos’ vet bill, with the anticipated surgery(s), will far exceed our initial invoice. And this sweet guy has a long journey ahead of him.
