Raise the PHCS Roof: $40k for 40 more years!

As we celebrate 40 years of Christian education at Pleasant Hill Christian School—a ministry of Occidental Community Church—we are looking ahead to 40 more years! Part of that is an ongoing capital improvement campaign that started in 2020 with several notable building improvements on campus. This summer we are moving forward in Faith on the largest of these efforts! The roof on the 110-year-old historic schoolhouse needs replacing. The last roof was installed in 1997. To accomplish this, we are hiring Capstone Roofing, a local company that is owned by a grandfather and father of a student at PHCS!

Our other projects over the last 3 years have included:

• Installation of a new modular classroom generously donated by a local family that was valued at more $75k
• Coming improvements to the parking area and ADA parking spot that will cost the school $10-$20k
• Planting of a school garden donated by Parent Club
• Removal of the dying redwood tree
• A new paint job for the school in 2022, for the first time in 15 years
