The Rotary Club of Asheville, Bee City USA-Asheville and Carolina Native Nursery are partnering to bring an important environmental conference to Asheville on May 17, 2025. 8:30 A.M. until 3 P.M.

Habitatscaping: Supporting Nature with Native Plants features inspirational keynote speaker and prolific author, Dr. Douglas Tallamy. The day includes informative presentations from regional experts, native plants for sale from local nurseries, and exhibits from local environmental nonprofits.

Dr. Tallamy is a renowned entomologist and T.A. Baker Professor of Agriculture at the University of Delaware. He’s spent over 40 years studying insects and plants and how they help shape healthy ecosystems. Author of bestselling books “Nature’s Best Hope,” “The Miracle of Oaks,” and “Bringing Nature Home: How You Can Sustain Wildlife with Native Plants,” Dr. Tallamy is recognized by organizations such as Audubon and The National Wildlife Federation as a leading voice in conservation. His talk is sure to inspire with his expertise on the critical role native plants play in supporting ecosystems and biodiversity and what you can do at home to make a difference.
