Harvard Square Homeless Shelter Corporation 2026 Campaign

The Harvard Square Homeless Shelter, est. 1983, is a dry shelter staffed primarily by Harvard Undergraduates and provides long-term stays for 18 guests while they work with on-site case-workers to find permanent housing. The Shelter also provides medical care, art programs, haircuts, laundry, and other services to its guests. Last year alone, the shelter housed 30 individuals, served over 7,100 meals, and helped 10 guests transition into permanent housing.  It is hosted in the basement of University Lutheran Church, an architecturally significant mid-century modern building currently experiencing water intrusion through both the foundation and roof. This year, the HSHSC is raising funds to address these water leaks, upgrade aging kitchen equipment and support summer shelter operations. All donations to this fund help us address these building problems as quickly and efficiently as possible.
