We realize we just received some very generous funding from Lotto Alaska for our RIVER PROJECT with RUBY MARINE so we will not be asking for any sponsorships for the dog houses going out to dogs living along the rivers that Ruby Marine services. Unfortunately we still need to ask for help with SOME of the houses that need to be shipped throughout the state by air.....This is one of those puppies!

This handsome boy is Yukon. He is a 3 year old husky mix who lives outside 24/7 in a rural community in Interior Alaska.

As you can see Yukon is in need of a new house, his current house leaves a lot to be desired! It looks like he might not even fit inside it but we know dogs can curl up pretty small. We would like to ask for sponsors to help us get one of our insulated houses and straw sent out to Mr. Yukon.

We have discussed his spending time inside and it sound like there just isn't room inside for him which makes it even more necessary for him to have a proper house outside and lots of straw to protect him from the harsh climate we have in the interior.

While we at Straw For Dogs are not of the mindset that dogs should live outside in the cold away from their families, the reality is that many do.

We provide insulated dog houses and straw to dogs living outside in the harsh Alaskan climate. Even with a dog house and straw these living conditions are far from ideal. However, sending these resources are the most immediate action we can take to provide a little comfort to dogs who are suffering in the elements.

We continue to encourage people to bring their dogs inside (at least periodically for love and socialization), walk them, and play with them. We offer supplies to help with this as well.
