2nd Street Learning stands as a beacon of hope, redefining education for unique students who don't fit within traditional school systems. We cater to individuals facing diverse challenges by adapting to the learners' needs and customizing their learning plans. Our students may face challenges such as caring for siblings, having safety concerns or lacking understanding that leads to disruptive behavior. Many of our students have faced setbacks. Yet, 2nd Street Learning offers them a chance to regain lost ground, rebuild their futures and find open doors.

2nd Street Learning, located in Flint, Michigan, includes many students grappling with formidable challenges. Census data exposes stark realities of poverty, low education rates, job cuts, the water crisis, and escalating violence, particularly affecting our local communities. The rise in gun homicides among youth, especially Black males, is a troubling trend demanding immediate attention. We aim to provide more than just an education; we strive to ensure the safety and well-being of these vulnerable youth. Your support will make a significant impact on our students and ultimately on our community.

Our goal to raise $5,000 on Giving Tuesday is rooted in our quest to fund our community engagement trips that play a pivotal role in broadening their horizons, and to bring in community organizations and businesses that will expose our students to news ways of learning, keeping them engaged and focused This includes partnerships with Charlie's Forever Farm, The Way Coffee Company and Financial Plus. New partners such as Pharlon Randle of Bang Town Production will aim to utilize music as a therapeutic medium for self-expression and emotional release for our students.

Many of our students have never ventured beyond the city limits or experienced the wonders of Michigan Adventure, Mackinac Island, or the Great Lakes. Your support can transform their perspectives and inspire them to envision a brighter future.

Our aim is not to solicit sympathy but to share our truth—a narrative of real kids facing tough circumstances, striving to better their lives through education. 2nd Street Learning isn't just a name; it's a gateway for a second chance at getting it right the first time.
