On December 16 & 17 (Saturday and Sunday) Troop 719 is proud to again partner with Cherrystones Restaurant for a Bento Fundraiser!

Thank you to all of our troop families, alumni, friends and also the fans of Cherrystones Restaurant who supported us two years ago at our first Drive Through Bento Fundraiser!  It was also nice to see many of you this past April at our Pancake Breakfast!

With your support, we have successfully returned to in person activities and our traditional Scouting program that included weekend backpacking trips in the Los Padres National Forest, Angeles National Forest and San Gorgonio Wilderness, family camps at Death Valley and Carpenteria, community service projects, summer camps at Camp Emerald Bay and Camp Big Horn; and Long Term Treks that included a 11 day 65+ mile Long Term Trek to Mount Whitney and treks in the rain forests and volcanic crater on Maui.  We assisted the congregation at Makawao Buddhist Temple in Maui at their Obon Festival, donated equipment and supplies; and helped to coordinate support for relief efforts after the fires that decimated Lahaina.  In October,  we held our traditional Rock Climbing weekend at Joshua Tree National Park and continued our collaboration with Troop 578 and 310G at Oso Lake Scout Camp.  Our Scouts continued to support their community through assisting with food drives, toy drives and Halloween candy distribution.  In November, we are looking forward to continuing our tradition of helping local families in need during Thanksgiving.  We also were happy to continue our Troop’s annual practice of reflecting upon and honoring the memory of service members of VFW Post 1961 and others on Memorial Day at Green Hills Memorial Park.

Finally, in May and October of 2023, for the first time in over four years, we proudly honored the achievements of 15 Troop 719 Eagle Scouts from the Eagle classes of 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022 by holding two long delayed  Eagle Court of Honors; completing Troop 719's emergence from the Pandemic.

Looking  ahead to 2024, in addition to our normal Scouting activities, we will be returning to  the Sierra Nevada mountain range for a 50 mile Long Term trek where we hope to climb a peak or two and also plan for a shorter backpacking trek for our younger scouts so they also can enjoy and experience the Sierras.

Please support Troop 719 at our end of year Bento Fundraiser with Cherrystones Restaurant to help build upon our high adventure Scouting activities in 2024!  Your action during our fundraiser to purchase a bento that includes Cherrystone’s famous teriyaki beef and pineapple chicken (donation $27 per plate) and/or make a general or sponsorship (click here for sponsorship category descriptions) donation to the Troop will go a long way toward helping our Scouts continue our high adventure and other Scouting activities. If you’d like additional information about the Bento fundraiser or about Scouting and Troop 719 please send an email to [email protected]. Information about our troop can also be found at our public website: click here for info on Troop 719!

Thank you for your continued support of the Scouts, families and community that is Troop 719!
