Dear Friends of Serenity Oaks,

As another year comes to a close, we find ourselves reflecting on the countless acts of kindness and compassion that have made it possible for Serenity Oaks to remain a safe haven for horses in need. Because of your generosity, hope continues to live here — in every nicker of greeting, every gentle nudge, and every story of healing that unfolds on our pastures.

This year, two very special residents, Nash and Igor, found the happy ending they had been waiting for. Both horses had spent years searching for a place to belong — moving from barn to barn, never quite finding someone who could truly see them.

For Nash, that journey was especially long. He had never known what it felt like to have a person to call his own. Despite his kind heart and quiet strength, Nash had been passed over time and again, always the one left behind. Igor, too, carried his own history of uncertainty, always wondering if he would ever be truly chosen. That all changed the day Lisa walked through our gates.

With patience, love, and care, Lisa gave Nash and Igor what they had been longing for: a forever home. Watching them load into the trailer that day — calm, curious, and finally at peace — was a moment none of us will ever forget. It reminded us why Serenity Oaks exists: to give every horse the chance to heal, to trust again, and to be loved.

Stories like Nash and Igor’s are only possible because of your support. It costs an average of $400 per month to provide feed, farrier care, veterinary services, and shelter for each horse at our sanctuary. Every dollar you give helps provide hay in the barn, medicine for aging joints, and gentle hands to care for these incredible animals.

As we look ahead to the coming year, we invite you to join our Forever Home Fund— a Giving Tuesday initiative dedicated to sustaining and expanding the life-changing work happening at Serenity Oaks. Your gift — no matter the size — truly makes a difference.

🐴 $50 – Provides a week of hay and feed for one horse
