Across the Somali Region of Ethiopia, mothers and newborns face life-threatening risks during pregnancy and childbirth—not because solutions don’t exist, but because hospitals often lack the essential equipment, trained support, and maternal care resources families deserve.

Iftiinka Hooyada – The Mother’s Light is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening maternal and newborn health through community-driven, sustainable solutions. We work in partnership with hospitals and local providers to improve safe delivery care, expand culturally responsive maternal support services, and equip frontline teams with the tools they need to save lives.
