Help Us Protect Our Neighborhoods from Another High-Density Development Attempt

We are once again facing a Special Use Permit (SUP) application from Hoosier Daddy LLC — the same developer whose project was previously denied. Despite rules that should have prevented a new application for 12 months, the developer filed under a last-minute “change of circumstance” loophole just before the recent zoning amendment went into effect. That amendment changed residential SUPs from a quasi-judicial to a legislative process — making the system more transparent and accessible for residents like us. Unfortunately, this developer’s timing means their project is still being considered under the old, less fair process.

The new application seeks approval for 290 high-density units.  This proposal is still based on an outdated traffic impact analysis, ignores the limits of our already strained infrastructure, and fails to fit with the character, scale, and harmony of Battle Park, Tarin Woods, Covington, Sentry Oaks, Congleton Farms, Rosa Parks, and the surrounding neighborhoods.

To make sure our voices are heard and the facts are clear, we need to raise funds for critical expenses: legal consultations, expert reviews, certified mailings, document retrieval, and printing. While retaining counsel and expert testimony for hearings can cost upwards of $30,000 for only minutes of presentation time, we have professionals generously helping us behind the scenes — and even so, there are unavoidable costs we must cover to stay organized and effective.

Your donation directly supports our ability to highlight the procedural flaws, challenge the outdated studies, and show decision-makers why this development is not right for our community. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps us stand stronger together.
