The Bridgettine Sisters have become a joyful, prayerful presence in Columbus—drawing people closer to Christ through their unwavering charisms of Prayer & Hospitality for the Unity of the Church. Their mission is simple yet profound: to offer a place of peace, renewal, and spiritual nourishment for all who seek rest in the Lord.
Since their arrival in 2017, the Sisters have transformed the spiritual landscape of Columbus. Their convent has become a home for authentic Catholic formation for lay men and women, priests, and seminarians. Weekly and monthly events fill their calendar: mini-retreats, holy hours, women’s gatherings, men’s fellowship breakfasts, visits from seminarians and clergy, vocational encounters, and opportunities for Adoration and spiritual conversation.
Their hospitality extends beyond formation. True to the legacy of their 650-year-old Order, the Sisters prepare over 52,000 meals annually for the poor, welcome pilgrims for prayer, and provide a joyful refuge for those carrying spiritual or physical burdens. Their charism is lived—not merely spoken.
Unlike many religious communities, the Bridgettine Sisters are fully financially autonomous from the Diocese of Columbus. They rely entirely on God’s providence through the generosity of the faithful. Their independence allows them to remain fully devoted to their life of prayer, adoration, and service while staying in complete communion with the Holy See.
Supporting the Sisters is not simply donating to another religious group—it is investing in a mission that brings Christ’s love, unity, and peace to countless souls. Your generosity ensures that this sacred work will bless Columbus not only today, but for generations to come.
To continue their mission, the Sisters are building two essential structures that embody their charisms:
Fr. Stash Dailey beautifully describes the planned chapel as “the heartbeat of the entire convent and grounds; if Jesus is not at the center, all is in vain.”
A dedicated chapel will provide:
Daily Adoration for all who wish to sit before Our Lord
Holy Mass open to the faithful
A refuge for anyone seeking quiet, beauty, and authentic Catholic formation
The chapel project includes:
A bell tower calling both Sisters and the city to prayer
A cloister walkway leading worshippers toward Christ
An intimate 75-person chapel, designed by Meyers+Associates
Chapel construction: $5 million
Bell tower and cloister walkway: $1.5 million
This sacred space will ensure that Jesus in the Eucharist remains the center of the Sisters’ life—and the life of all who visit.
After the chapel, the Sisters will build a Guest House—an expression of their centuries-old hospitality.
The Guest House will offer:
Overnight lodging for families caring for loved ones in nearby hospitals
Space for travelers, retreatants, and small groups seeking renewal
A quiet place for rest, prayer, and healing
Located near Columbus’s major medical centers—The James, OSU Wexner, Grant, Riverside, and Nationwide Children’s Hospital—the Guest House will be a sanctuary for the weary and suffering.
Estimated cost: tbd
These projects are not merely buildings; they are vessels of grace. Together, they will allow the Sisters to:
Expand from six to ten Sisters
Deepen their rhythm of prayer for the unity of the Church
Welcome more priests, seminarians, and lay faithful
Offer hospitality to those most in need
Continue feeding tens of thousands of poor and vulnerable neighbors
By supporting the Bridgettine Sisters, you join a mission that honors Christ, strengthens the Church, and blesses countless souls in Columbus and beyond.
