The Presbyterian United Church of Schaghticoke is a PCUSA church managed by a session made up of members elected from the congregation. We have a part-time pastor who is dedicated to the call of Christ to build communities of faith who love and serve all with Spirit, compassion and grace. The church body is small but mighty and see themselves as a family of faith with room at the table for all who enter.
Our brick building has stood in place since it was moved there in the early 1800's- there is a good story about that. Our sanctuary is large with high ceilings and wooden pews and a beautiful 19th century pipe organ. Worship is Sunday at 10:30 am and though we are small we are joyous and Spirited. All are welcome.
Today the church also houses a newly added commercial kitchen and is home to the non-profit group - Community Life Support, Inc (CLS) and the Schaghticoke Food Pantry. Through CLS we have health and wellness opportunities- yoga and Tai Chi- youth programming- Tiny Tots and Teen Time and soon Lego Time; monthly free community meals, senior group Young at Heart, as well as multiple community events throughout the year. The kitchen and hall are available for parties etc for a small donation.
Our church building has many needs as you can imagine- and our organist recently retired. As you read this we hope you are inspired to share a donation with us to support our building needs and the work of the gospel in Schaghticoke. And if you know someone who plays piano and can sing send them our way. We would love to have them.
