Imagine fleeing your homeland not once, but twice—each time leaving behind everything you know in search of safety. This is the story of an extraordinary woman who has overcome unimaginable hardship and now fights to uplift her community.

Her Journey of Resilience:
Born in Sudan, she and her family fled as political refugees in 1992, seeking safety in Libya. There, she pursued education, earning a bachelor’s degree in biology while also dedicating herself to social work and advocacy.

But in 2011, war shattered her life again. She became a refugee for the second time, escaping to Tunisia, where she spent two years in a refugee camp. Even in crisis, she refused to be a victim—she trained with humanitarian organizations and taught children in emergency situations.

A Voice for Her People:
Now living in Utah, she continues to serve. From 2015 to 2019, she was a community leader, later becoming the Chairwoman of the Utah Sudanese Community. Against all odds, she pursued higher education as a single mother, earning her associate’s degree in Communication Studies. She now dedicates herself to community outreach, refugee education, and providing Arabic translation services for those in need.

She has been selected to represent Sudan as Mrs. Sudan United Nations at an international pageant in India this June. This is more than a title—it’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to bring global awareness to the struggles of Sudanese refugees and advocate for women’s empowerment, cultural representation, and healthcare access for mothers and children in Sudan.

Her dream is to build a health center in her hometown to ensure safe pregnancies and healthy babies. But she cannot do this alone.
