BirthWell Partners' mission is to make doula training and doula services more equitable and accessible, in order to improve the health of families and communities in Alabama.

Doulas are non-medical professionals who provide informational, emotional, and physical support during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. When people are supported by doulas, they are less likely to give birth too soon (preterm birth) or to give birth to a baby that's too small (low birth weight), and they are less likely to have a surgical birth (c-section). BirthWell Partners is a non-profit that has been training community doulas and providing free one-on-one support to under-resourced pregnant people in Alabama for almost 15 years.
