Our curriculum is based around "Blue Mind Theory". Worlds redound author of the book Blue Mind, Dr. Wallace J. Nichols, marine biologist, developed the "blue mind theory" a term that describes the science of water's effects on the brain, which is, being near in or around a body of water decreases symptoms of anxiety and depression. We are partnering with Dr. Wallace to develop a blue mind curriculum, which will be completed in August. In September, FAU researchers will begin case studies utilizing our curriculum. 

 

Supporting our organization means helping a movement whose mission is to make ocean & surf therapy an accessible mental health resource for everybody. In 2020, the British health-care system recognized ocean and surf therapy as a treatment and can be prescribed to Indvidual's struggling with mental health and substance use, with insurance reimbursement. 

All donations go towards funding our program, providing adequate surf gear for our clients, and fund research for ocean & surf therapy.
