Hello friends, family, and theater lovers!

We are a group of passionate Chicago theater artists putting on Fefu and Her Friends by María Irene Fornés, and we're asking for your help!

What?

Fefu and Her Friends follows Fefu as she hosts seven friends for an afternoon gathering. As the night progresses, their relationships unravel, their secrets are exposed, and their realities are called into question. In Fefu and Her Friends, Fornés explores gender and sexuality, and all the many ways these women torment and delight in themselves and each other. This immersive show will be performed at the apartment above Facility Theatre, and audiences will follow the characters from room to room as the play unfolds.

Who are we?

Snails on a Bike is a collective of Chicago-based theatre artists that specializes in performing plays in site-specific, found spaces. We are most excited about work that explores the intricacy of human relationships; all the messiness and beauty of what it means to love in our current social context. We are dedicated to fostering a collaborative and consent-forward environment, where each artist is free to contribute and advocate for themselves and their ideas. We are so excited to be working with Scott Westerman and Go To Productions to bring Fefu and Her Friends to Life!

Where would your donation go?

Donations will cover the cost of rights for the play, publicity materials, and contracted artistic support (intimacy direction, graphic design etc.). Remaining funds will be distributed among the artists after the production, as we firmly believe that young artists should be paid well for their work. We also believe that theatre should be accessible for all audiences, and your donation will help us keep ticket prices low (all performances will be pay what you can, with a suggested donation of $20.00).
