The South Carolina State University National Alumni Association Washington DC Chapter is helping a SC State student from Massachusetts.

Danaysia is a determined and passionate first-generation college student at South Carolina State University. As the daughter of a single mother, she has worked tirelessly to pursue her education and embrace all the opportunities her beloved HBCU offers.

Despite her best efforts—working part-time, seeking outside scholarships, and advocating for aid—unexpected financial challenges have placed her educational journey at risk. Danaysia currently faces an overwhelming financial burden, including costs for housing, tuition, a meal plan, and books, in addition to an unpaid balance from her previous year.

We believe every student deserves a chance to succeed, and we’re rallying to help Danaysia continue her education.
