WHO WE ARE

_OFCOLOR is a non-profit organization, an emerging arts alliance dedicated to cultivating a community of creatives and launching inclusive spaces for artists of color to showcase their craft and talents. Established out of a need to spotlight underrepresented communities in Austin, the organization devotes its efforts to uplifting the work of BIPOC artists, initiating visibility, and forging opportunities.

PROBLEMS WE SOLVE

_OFCOLOR tackles and dismantles systemic barriers faced by artists of color by addressing limited access to professional development, routine under-compensation, and a lack of representation in traditional arts spaces to create an inclusive arts ecosystem that drives visibility, accessibility, and appreciation for diverse creatives.

WHO WE SERVE

Our organization serves underrepresented artists in Central Texas by focusing on fostering spaces where communities, regardless of socioeconomic status, can actively engage with the benefits of the arts. We act as a cultural anchor, bridging creators and audiences isolated from traditional arts-related spaces.

WHY IT MATTERS

Our work transcends the conventional boundaries of art by addressing systemic inequities. By dismantling barriers, fostering inclusivity, and championing fair compensation, we are contributing to a cultural shift. Our initiatives serve as a model for sustainable, community driven arts ecosystems.

WHERE YOUR SUPPORT GOES

Black Art WKND, which serves artists and creatives of all races and ethnicities. During this annually held cultural event we will host week-long series of programs during Juneteenth that uplift the community's cultural fabric and Black Texans historical narratives.

Latino Art WKND, which serves artists, educators, cultural workers based in and visiting Austin. This weeklong series are hosted during Hispanic Heritage Month

Rituals, which celebrates the contributions and influence of Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians and other Pacific Islander Americans to American history and culture. This public month long arts program infuses art installations with themed public programming, which will transform the gallery and multiple cultural center spaces into hubs of activity and exploration.
