The Nilda Foundation for Sickle Cell and Stroke was founded as a resource to people with Sickle Cell and Stroke and a support to those who may not ordinarily be able to afford healthcare or those in rural or underserved areas - who don't have immediately available care.

The Foundation serves as a global resource and operates its teams in the United States and in Ghana, West Africa. We also work in partnership with the Ishmael Ashitey Medical Center [Ghana] and with other partner organizations on both sides of the Atlantic!

We are setting our bar high this year, as we have served our community for years out of pure love, concern and foundation-generated funds. Dr. Nilda Lopez, Founder/Executive Director of the Nilda Foundation for Sickle Cell and Stroke knows first hand what it's like dealing with Sickle Cell, as she herself is a person living with and sometimes suffering with the condition.

We are looking for 1,000 generous friends, family, colleagues and community members to join our effort this year- to help us reach our Capital Campaign Goal of $900,000 with $90, $900 or whatever amount you can give! We know that this ambitious goal can be met and we intend to engage until it does.

We also thank you all in advance for your generous donations and time. Our volunteers mean so much to us, and we couldn't do our work without you! We also thank our staff in Accra, Ghana- for helping us in rural areas and places where we want to be most: the places where there are no direct healthcare facilities and not much access to the providers for those who suffer with sickle cell. With our global staff and key partnerships with the Ishmael Ashitey Medical Center and other organizations, we are able to make the impact we wish to make each year!
