Hi my name is Lila Mullin and this is my first year rowing! I am currently in 8th grade and I go to Marymount School of New York. I found out about CIR from a family friend and decided to learn to row in the summer. After learning to row in the summer, and learning more about the sport, I instantly fell in love with rowing. Since then I have met and become friends with so many marvelous girls. Rowing has shown me how to be a supportive teammate and taught me great discipline. So far I have learned so many great lessons from rowing and continue to learn more. Not only have I become mentally stronger but phisically stronger as well. In the winter season it is to cold to go on the water so we workout inside. To work out we use ergs (rowing machines), weights, and many other types of machines and workout equipment. All of which the ergathon money goes to. However in the fall, spring, and summer we are on the water. I am always so excited to go to practice to see my incredible teammates and to row. In the time I have been at CIR I have made so many unforgettable memories and continue to make more. Rowing has quickly become so important to me and I can't wait to continue improving.
This fundraiser helps City Island Rowing raise money for equipment like ergs, boats, oars, and so much more. This year we have attended many regattas such as Head of the fish and Head of Passaic and will be attending many more. The only way that we can prepare and get stronger for these regattas is with our equipment. It would mean so much to me if you were willing to support this wonderful group of girls. This money will help CIR in so many ways and will be greatly appreciated by me, our amazing team, and the many other girls that join CIR in the future. To show our appreciation for all the donations, we will be erging for 60minutes and I am so excited. Thank you so much for all the support and let's go CIR!🩷💙
Please note that City Island rowing is an IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization and 100% of your donation is fully tax-deductible (Tax ID: 47-245881).
