Projekt NYC is proud to support an inspiring youth-led initiative funded by a $1,000 federal grant from Youth Service America and AmeriCorps. This 9/11 Day of Service project is driven by NYC high school students determined to ensure that the experiences and sacrifices of 9/11 victims, survivors, and first responders are remembered.

Through storytelling, art, and creative expression, these students will connect with individuals directly impacted by 9/11, transforming their firsthand accounts into visual art, poetry, and multimedia pieces. These tributes will be unveiled in a public exhibit held September 6th 2025 at Playwrights Horizons, and will feature prominent guest speakers, with over 100 NYC high school student volunteers.

We are looking for additional sponsorships to help bring this vision to life and educate a whole new generation on the impacts of 9/11 through real life connection and storytelling. A team of over 90 student volunteers would love to make this more than just an art exhibit, inviting prominent guest speakers, politicians and press to honor the 24th anniversary in a meaningful way.

This project is 100% teen led and teen produced. The overwhelming response from NYC high school students from all 5 boroughs working together is inspiring.
