Meet Brian S.

Brian has been incarcerated for 22 and a half years. His daughter turns 13 in November, making the Father-Daughter Dance double as a birthday celebration.

Some of Brian’s favorite memories are educational moments during visits — math, reading, and learning together. “She’d look to me for guidance, even in here. That was a big deal to me,” he says.

Wearing a suit in front of her will be a first. “I’m nervous but excited,” Brian admits. “This is our first, not just hers. I want her to take away the experience of being shown how she deserves to be treated as a young lady.”

Despite the pain of missed milestones, Brian treasures their bond. “She means everything to me. I’m glad she still sees me as her hero. This dance will be a memory that lasts forever.”
