Lights & Sound Booth Fundraiser

Hello, HIH Parents and Community,

Since its opening last year, we have absolutely loved our new "Boulevard" performance hall. It serves so many functions, from assembly hall for large groups to worship for school chapels, theater class plays, and more. The venue has even hosted outside arts groups and performances, allowing our community to enjoy quality Christian art right in our own school!

Overall, it has served our school well. However, we have been hoping to enhance and correct a few technical issues in the space.

This spring, we will produce another play in the space: Jane Austen's Sense and Sensibility. To best produce this play AND enhance the space for all its other uses, we are looking to accomplish the following:

REWIRE: Rewire the existing lights and sound system to be controlled from the back of the auditorium.
BOOTH: Build a traditional "tech booth" in the back of the auditorium.
IMPROVE: Install more flexible and functional lighting in the space to better cover the whole stage, allow for face visibility, and build more nuanced lighting cues. Specific supplies would likely include more lights and a better light board.

We've had a parent at HIH, a professional electrician, offer to volunteer his time to do the electrical work for free.

The quote for the materials and supplies needed for the job is about $2000 (steps 1-2). We're aiming to raise $3000 total to also get the needed equipment for better light cues and control.

The theater department and school would be highly grateful if you're interested in supporting this project. If the funds happen to be supplied by 1-2 individuals, we would also love to name the booth after that family/families.

We would try to move forward with this project as soon as possible to maximize the time we can learn to work with the tech before the May production.
