The Appalachian Homestead: Preserving Craft, Building Community
In the hollers and hills of Appalachia, tradition runs deep. Skills once passed from hand to hand, leatherwork, woodcarving, weaving, pottery, and storytelling, are fading as the old timers pass on. Circle Seven Ranch is committed to changing that.
The Appalachian Homestead will be our Artisan & Heritage Center, a living hub where craftspeople can work, teach, and inspire. It will house artisan studios, a gift shop for handcrafted goods, a recording and media space, and classrooms where the community can gather to learn the old ways. This center will serve as the beating heart of our Appalachian programming, blending history, art, and faith into one shared space.
Your support will help us:
-
Secure and outfit the building with essential infrastructure
-
Equip artisan workspaces for leather, wood, textile, and clay crafts
-
Develop educational areas for workshops, apprenticeships, and cultural events
-
Launch a retail space to help artisans sell their work and sustain their craft
-
Install production equipment to document and share these skills with a wider audience
This is more than brick and timber, it’s an investment in heritage preservation, local economy, and community resilience. By giving to this campaign, you help ensure that Appalachian artistry doesn’t just survive—it thrives.
Join us in establishing The Appalachian Homestead. Together, we’ll keep the fires of tradition burning bright for generations to come.
