Dr. David J. Marrington Memorial Contribution

Dr. David J. Marrington Memorial Donations to the Neshaminy Education Foundation

Dr.David J. Marrington, age 91 of Langhorne, Pa. died December 3, 2020.
David was the beloved husband of Inez (Kurz) for 69 years. He is survived by his wife, his loving children, David Jr., and Larry Marrington, as well as grandchildren, Matt, Melly Condidorio (Marrington), Kate, and David Marrington, his brother Gerald Marrington and sister Ann Casey (Marrington).

Dave was a graduate of Germantown HS, and East Stroudsburg College. After a stint in the army from 1951-53, he landed a job in the newly consolidated Neshaminy School District. He then earned a masters in education degree from U of Pennsylvania, and a PHD from Temple U.

He was a much loved math teacher and administrator in the Neshaminy School District for 40 years, from 1953-1992, where he was at various times, principal of Carl Sandburg and Poquessing Jr. High Schools, and Neshaminy and Maple Point High Schools. He also served as K-12 curriculum supervisor for the district.

Outside of school, Dave was a lifelong Phillies fan, with all that that implies. At various times in his life, he took up woodworking, fishing, hunting, boating, skiing, winemaking, animal hide tanning, making maple syrup from our own trees, and a host of other things that struck his interest. He was never afraid to try new things. After retiring, he and Inez had many happy years together traveling the world. They travelled to China, Africa, India, Israel, South America, Central America and virtually every country in Europe.

Dave was a long time member of Langhorne Rotary and St. James Episcopal Church in Langhorne and supporter of the Neshaminy Education Foundation (NEF).

Regardless of which hat he was wearing, husband, dad, educator, world traveler, there is one word that best describes Dave, Patience. He had a way of getting those around him to do the right thing without raising his voice or showing out right anger. This was no easy task while working in schools and helping to raise two boys. He was greatly loved, and will be missed.
