As we approach the 49th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War, on March 29th, we honor the undaunted courage, patriotism, and tremendous sacrifices of our Vietnam veterans.

For too long after returning home, these heroes did not receive the honor, respect and gratitude they deserved. They faced indifference, protests and a nation divided over the unpopular war. Yet their valor never wavered as they demonstrated accountability, resilience and democracy's resolve in the face of adversity.

Now, 49 years after the conflict ended, it's our solemn duty to give back and show these American patriots the profound respect they've earned through their selfless service and sacrifice.

The South Plains Honor Flight provides local Vietnam veterans the opportunity to visit the powerful memorials in Washington D.C. that stand as enduring tributes to their service.
