Invisible No More: Mapping Enforced Disappearances of Migrants in Mexico After US Deportation
Frontera Federation is working on a research and advocacy project holding the United States and Mexico responsible for using enforced disappearances of non-Mexican migrants as a means to deter them from seeking asylum or otherwise immigrating to the United States. The project relies on eye witness testimony, government records, and on the ground investigations over the last several years to expose the rising level of U.S. removals of non-Mexicans to Mexico and corresponding explosion of kidnappings by Mexican government officials or by organized criminal groups with the acquiescence of the Mexican state. Your money would go toward operational costs and travel expenses for witnesses and researchers as they lobby the government and international bodies to halt deportations, expulsions, turnbacks, and other removals of non-Mexican people to Mexico without their consent.
