For 45 years, the Matthews HELP Center has been a beacon of HOPE by providing essential support to families in need. Our mission is driven by compassion and the unwavering belief that together, we can strengthen our community by bridging the gap between crisis and stability. With every dollar donated we are uplifting families.

Through our Crisis Assistance Programs we are able to provide financial assistance for rent, utilities and childcare. Through our non-financial assistance programs we are able to provide food, clothing, household items, backpacks filled with school supplies and a Thanksgiving meal for neighbors who would otherwise do without. We serve residents within our 6 zip code service area of: 28104, 28105 (Matthews); 28226, 28270, 28211 (Charlotte); 28079 (Stallings and Indian Trail).

Last fiscal year, 6,300 adults and children were provided with over $800,000 in financial and non-financial assistance thanks to our donors. Because of this support, families were able to avoid eviction and utility disconnection and focus on regaining financial stability, not fearing homelessness.
