🌟 Join Us in the Fight Against Alzheimer's and Dementia in Maryland! 🌟

Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia are not just health issues; they're a growing crisis affecting millions of lives. In the United States alone, over 6 million people are currently living with Alzheimer's, and projections indicate this number will skyrocket in the coming years.

But what about Maryland? Here are some stark statistics that underscore the urgent need for action in our state:

  1. Prevalence: In Maryland, over 110,000 people aged 65 and older are living with Alzheimer's. This number is expected to reach 130,000 by 2025, a 17% increase in just five years.

  2. Impact on Families: Behind each diagnosis is a family grappling with the emotional, physical, and financial toll of dementia care. Over 285,000 caregivers in Maryland provide unpaid care, contributing over 324 million hours of support valued at nearly $4.1 billion.

  3. Healthcare Costs: Alzheimer's is not just a personal burden; it's also a significant economic challenge. In 2021, total Medicaid costs for Maryland residents with Alzheimer's and other dementias reached an estimated $884 million, and these costs are projected to rise dramatically in the coming years.

  4. Disparities: Dementia disproportionately affects communities of color. African Americans are about twice as likely as older whites to have Alzheimer's or other dementias. Despite this, they are less likely to receive a diagnosis or access support services.

But there's hope. With your support, we can make a real difference:

  • Your donations will provide vital support services for individuals living with dementia and their caregivers, ensuring they have the resources and assistance they need.
  • Together, we can raise awareness, reduce stigma, and advocate for policies that support families affected by Alzheimer's and dementia.

Every dollar raised brings us one step closer to a world without Alzheimer's. Join us in the fight today!

Together, we can make a difference. Thank you for your support.
