A Vision for the Future: Expanding the Collierville Burch Library

For nearly 75 years, the Friends of the Collierville Burch Library and their predecessor, the Collierville Contemporary Club, have advocated and raised funds for the Collierville Burch Library.

With the rapid growth of Collierville’s population in the past two decades our beloved library is in need of expansion and modernization.

The Collierville Burch Library is a much-loved and well-used resource. To answer the growing demand for innovative programming, library services, and community meeting spaces, the Town of Collierville is transforming the current building and expanding it into a modern 21^st century library. It’s more than a place to check out books. It’s a vibrant, evolving resource that supports residents of all ages and stages of life.

The vision for expanding the Collierville Burch Library has been 10 years in the making shaped by community input, expert planning, and a growing need for modern space. This includes initial conversations, research, and meetings with stakeholders beginning as far back as 2015.

The Collierville Burch Library is ready to grow, both in size and in service to the community.

The expansion project is designed to meet the needs of today while preparing for the opportunities of tomorrow.

Here’s what’s coming:

A 20,000-Square-Foot Expansion to include:

A flexible, multi-use meeting and event space that can host up to 300 people
Modular design allows the space to divide into three separate rooms
Infrastructure to support civic events, educational programs, and private rentals
A new revenue stream to support library operations and programming
Adult Reading Center and Conservatory

Enhanced Library Spaces

A vibrant, reimagined Children’s Area for early literacy and family engagement
A modern Teen Space with updated technology and flexible seating
Flexible community rooms for workshops, meetings, and small group gatherings
Upgraded infrastructure, including HVAC, flooring, and furnishings

A Civic Space for All

This expansion isn’t just about the library, it’s about creating a central gathering place for Collierville. Located next to Town Hall and surrounded by green space, the new facility will serve as a hub for connection, learning, and celebration.

Originally pledging $1 million of this $12 Million project, we have now committed to make our best effort to raise $4 million privately.
