We assist a monthly average of 25 cats with getting sterilized, vaccinated, and microchipped.
We also assist rescuers that cannot financially afford to fix their cat (usually the mothers) with costs of fixing on a sliding scale based on financial need.

Monthly average expenses: (these are estimates as the numbers vary widely based on season, tangible donations, and medical needs)

$500 food/litter/pee pads

$300 Gas/transportation

$2000 Spay/Neuter for 25 cats on average per month (this number may be less depending on numbers or could increase)

$2750 Vaccines/rabies/deworm/flea treatment and microchips

$100 Swag bags for adoptions, disposables like blankets, toys and bedding that adopts out with kitties

This is a monthly expense that does not include medical care for sick animals. We have a goal but it will roll over each month to a new needed amount.

Our volunteers administer vaccines to reduce costs but gas prices rising are impacting this program. Kittens need to be vaccinated every few weeks up to 4 months while in our care at a cost of $15 each.

Due to being full we are supporting the community with fixing the mothers and fathers of rescues but some also need financial assistance. A2R offers partial grants for low income homes or those with large quantities of cats. We’ve helped our community as well by fixing colonies of cats to help stop the flood of kittens, inbreeding, and illnesses.

It enables us to allocate funds for spay neuter programs & grants for those trying to help but financially unabae; pay for food/litter/shots/ flea treatments while cats await adoption, medical care & supplies for cats in foster, sanctuary or quarantined at our adoption center; websites/social media & adoption databases; adoption events; clinic equipment and supplies; gas for transportation and so much more. Our volunteer staff pays for many of these costs themselves.

Success Stories:

Poseidon saved with the joint effort of A2R, Hope for Paws and the vet who in Woodland Hills. He had pectus excavatum which had collapsed his lungs by the time of surgery. He is fully healed and adopted by his foster Meowmy our foster coordinator.

Vanilla was an emergency call at 5 am after he’d collapsed in front of someone’s car in the roadway. For 10 days he was completely blind, deaf and unable to move. It took two months of treatment to be able to walk again. A year later he is doing very well but due to continued liver difficulties and neurological problems from his initial poisoning that brought him into the rescue he is not adoptable and is being sanctuary at our adoption facility. He continues to improve and loves working as a therapy kitty going to visit people like his 102 yo friend at her retirement home.
