Story

WHY DONATE? Read below for more details...

Channel Missions is actively raising money for The Hiding Place.

The Hiding Place is officially open as of this past February of 2023 to provide a safe and discrete place to recover from domestic violence with dignity, hope, and healing.

As we actively serve survivors both at our on-site location and off-site, we are reaching out to community members and organizations to help us as we continue to raise our 1st year's budget total of $208,000. We have raised approximately 25% of this total and are at $62,000 raised.  Please consider giving to The Hiding Place as we climb down into the trenches alongside survivors of domestic violence.  We are confident that The Hiding Place safe property will be a place of healing for many.  It is important to us to involve the community of Pickens County as we build this program.

What are your donations used for?

Your donations will be going towards providing safe housing, counseling, and resource support for women, who are domestic violence survivors, and their children.   This budget total also includes providing community dinners for survivors on-site, individual needs and necessities, travel expenses for services, and aiding survivors through The Hiding Place's 24/7 Hotline. We want to be able to serve each individual on a personal level and help the survivor feel confident as she starts her journey of healing.  We also have plans in place to be able to serve male survivors off-site as the need arises.

Key Goals & Mission:

Our goal with The Hiding Place is to provide resources for domestic violence victims as they begin navigating the healing journey. Through this program, we want to help the survivors become thrivers that can succeed independently on their own, without holding their identity within the abuse and while also breaking generational curses. With heart-wrenching statistics proven year after year in SC making the state sit at #11  in the nation for domestic violence victims, we feel the urge to step up and create safe spaces for victims. On the  property pictured below, we will be offering safe housing, counseling sessions, trauma care, and resourcing for aid.
